When Steve wakes up and finds himself in an unknown world, he ventured to find some water. When he found some, he saw his reflection, and he realized that he is not human like he thought he was... he discovered himself to be a cyborg, due to all the "skin" that was chipped away, exposing the metal of his cyborg self.
