I tried to update the skin and the transparency of the skin turned black and it looks like there is no way to fix it. So if you want to use it with a transparant backround just edit the skin and remove the black.The skin will not be transparent online. So if you want it to be transparent it will only work offline or if you play with a downloaded minecraft on a offline server. And to make it work you replace the skin with char.png in the minecraft.jar
