Well, here's my skin for the Deep Sea contest. I must say, I enjoyed creating this hideous, yet peaceful creature. As you can see, the spawn has attached itself to an old, wrecked diving suit, sucking off the moss and rust to strengthen itself and mature to grow into an adult squid!

Altum Mare Spawn, Latin for Deep Sea Spawn, are the offspring of the giant mythological squid Cthulu. Both male and female offspring are determined by their colour. Rich blue for male, and pale red for female. How they are created is unknown, however to survive, they must adapt to the deep sea environment they are brought upon.

For the offspring to live on, they are to attach themselves, both physically and emotionally with the ocean. This can be through attaching themselves to mossy rocks, shipwrecks or in this case, old and rusted diving suits. Once they have matured, they grow to a large scale and move higher above the bottom of the sea.

From there, they live a short life, either being killed by humans, or the environmental waste dumped into the ocean. Their life is not a negative one, however. Their soul is taken to Mother Nature, ready to be used again in another life form, while their body is decomposed into the bottom of the ocean they once lived on.
