"Black Steve" were human mobs. They were originally in-game as a test during the Indev phase.Black Steve was made by "Dock", Minecraft's past artist, as well as the similarly-styled Rana, Steve and Beast Boy. All four of them were removed from the game when Dock left the development team in early 2010.
