The head of the NERV base, Gendo is the father of Evangelion Unit-01's pilot, Shinji Ikari. in 2004 he lost his wife Yui Ikari as a result of her Contact Experiment with Eva-01, but her spirit lives on within the Eva as eternal proof of humanity's existence. he is very Distant from Shinji and rejects him even sending him to live with Misato. Gendo has a strong relationship with Rei Ayanami since she is the clone of Yui Ikari.
My notes: the reason a piece of the glasses is white is because it's supposed to look as if it's gleaming. hope you like it :D
