kamilostek suggested that I skin a moth, an emperor moth (http://www.naturephoto-cz.com/emperor-moth-photo-1038.html) in particular. The Steve model doesn't lend itself to moth, butterflies, or insects very well but I decided to take on the challenge. In order to get the skin to work, I visualized the moth as having flown into, and wrapped itself around, a pole. You will have to spin the model to see the wings properly. I had to simplify the coloration of the moth but tried to keep its distinctive eye spots and red markings. I also had to create a head with eyes to make the skin complete and playable. I decided not to add a mouth because it looked too cheesy.Description | Link | Type | Not mirrored because |
