The Millennium Mechagodzilla is nicknamed Kiryu. Because of many monsters attacking Japan, including a second Godzilla in 1999. Tokyo proposed to take the original Godzilla skeleton from the bottom of the sea, and use it as a skeletal framework for constructing this titan. This machine was able to be subconsciously controlled by the crew by inserting cloned DNA from the bones into the quasi-organic control computers.
