Hayley's Story
In 2007 a 7 year old girl was diagnosed with brain cancer. She was told she had 126 days to liv and ended up surviving for 255 days. Not long after her death, her parents began to find notes left around the house that little Hayley left before she passed away. There were 116 notes all up, they were hidden in CD cases, in between book, in back packs and many other hidden places. Most of the notes said things like "I love you Mummy and Daddy" or they had pictures of love hearts and flowers.
One of the notes were very well noticed though by her mother and father. It was an entire page of weird shapes and symbols... It wasn't until all the notes were found that the parents realised on the back of every page there was someithng that read "# = G" (That was not one of the symbols) After gathering all the notes, they figured out what the note said, it said exactly this:
"Dear Mummy and Daddy, I know that the man in the big white coat said I didn't have long to wait until I could be in a happy place. I don't want you to be sad because I don't want you to cry. You should be happy that you raised a special girl like me. Just remember to never cry over me please.
From Hayley, your little angel.
P.S. Mummy, don't forget to take care of daddy's broken leg."
I have created Hayley in a little pink bathing suit to show that the last place she ever went besides the hospital was to the beach. On this trip to the beach, her father said that she leaned over to him and said "Daddy, when I go to heaven with all of the fairy's, I'm going to live on the beach so I can smell the fresh air and put my toes in the sand all day long. Then hopefully one day, you and mummy can visit me there too."
I hope you have found this to be a touching story because it was to me the first time I read it.
To show a salute to Hayley's family, please comment something nice or favourite.
Thankyou for taking your time to read this touching story.
