Well thats where YOU are wrong!
Hobgoblins have been around (well im sure they would be if they had actually exsisted when they were first mentioned) since the time of Shakespeare and beyond as they are mentioned in A Midsummer Nights Dream
They are portrayed as tricksters scoundrels and when needs be, warriors...
whereas your average Goblin is around 4ft tall and Green the Hobgoblin is around 6ft - 6ft 5 average and Yellow or Brown or Orange and are the second tallest of the Goblin people (just behind Bugbears)
Like normal Goblins, Hobgoblins love a good brew, and can make some pretty good ones themselves (there is even a type of ale called Hobgoblin made in England)
