Robot with Headphones

The technologically advanced robot approached the table, it's metallic shell gleaming under the spotlight, freshly waxed and painted iron covering it's surface.
'This night was going to be big', it thought, as it eyed the raving crowd.

Once upon a time it could hear its own heartbeat, beating loudly in its once-human ears.
But that was many, many years ago, and now the only thing it could hear was the occasional spark of wires and the thrumming of the music vibrating through its molten core.

When the scientists approached it on its death-bed, and asked if it wanted to be part of a new brand of technology that could increase its life span, it didn't think of the consequences.
Now music and entertaining the masses are all it feels now.
