For the contest.
Tiffany was a young girl when her mother passed away, she had stopped eating, drinking and often cried herself to sleep. Her father had no time to deal with her problems. He didn't care enough, he bought her a doll to try and make her happy. Tiffany loved the doll, she named it 'Smiles' for its eternal grin.
It wasn't long before Tiffany was happy again, Smiles was a great for her, despite being an inanimate object, it seemed to care for her, it seemed to love her.
As time went on Tiffany saw Smiles seemingly come to life, when she went to bed Smiles would sit next to her and watch over her, like her mother used to. Smiles began to actively play with Tiffany, instead of being a puppet to her, Smiles moved fluently. Smiles even spoke to her sometimes.
Time went on, Tiffany was close to being a grown woman and had made her own friends, Smiles wasn't needed any more. Smiles saw less of Tiffany, she threw Smiles into her closet, buried under clothes and garbage.
Tiffany though began to excel and began to build her own life. She forgot about Smiles.
One day, Tiffany came home to find her house in flames, everything she owned was burnt to the ground. She and her father spent time with family, Tiffany's father didn't make it past the first night. His heart was removed.
Tiffany's friends soon followed, murdered in the same way.
Tiffany fell into depression, then she found it. Smiles in her luggage. Tiffany felt happier just by staring at the toy, she noticed though the extra weight to the doll. Tiffany opened Smiles mouth, there she found several disembodied hearts, still beating.
Tiffany had screamed and thrown the doll across the room. Smiles didn't like that, he got up and walked across the room, his usual smile replaced by a frown,
"You should have stayed with me, Tiffany. We were happy. You were happy to have your mother back"
Smiles kept walking towards Tiffany, his frown stretching into an angry snarl.
"I wasn't good enough was I? You Loved me, you gave me your heart. I want your love back."
Smiles' grin came back when he was just out of Tiffany's reach.
"You will love me again. This time forever. I will have back your heart."
