When I was younger, I always had a fear of the dark. Not just the dark though. It was that thing that lived in the dark. When I turned off the lights, it would crawl amongst the floors and walls, chasing after me. I would hurry to bed just seconds after it tried to snatch me up.
One night however, I brought a flashlight to my room. I turned of the lights, and once it got close, I shined the light on it. I must have scared it fast, for I never saw it. Since then, it still scurries amongst the floors and walls, keeping at its distance. Honestly, I think now it more scared of me than I was of it.
