Take the current Minecraft and fast forward 4 years. This is what will have happened.
All of your friends are gone...all of your houses have burned to the ground...you own nothing but the clothes on your back, the sword in your hand, and whatever food you can scavenge...
Science, has failed.
Religion, has failed.
Civilization, has failed.
Once the invasion began, The End took over within the year.
You're all that's left.
