Kitsune is Japanese for fox. There are many stories within Japanese folklore containing foxes with magical abilities. These magical abilities, notable the ability to change to human form, increase with age and wisdom. Also, the more tails, nine being the maximum, the older, wiser and more powerful the kitsune is.
