He's been surviving for one and one reason only. He's been hiding.
When those pesky mobs roam inside unsuspecting homes that have yet been ravaged, Gregory hides near wooden planks and then takes out the mobs one by one, saving whoever he can.
No one knows where he came from or who exactly he is..
