one of the last remaining Laz.Co MK 4 service droids left, X-12 was the ships logistics officer. while most mk 4's were dismantled due to the glitch causing them to develop intelligence (something highly feared and highly illeagle in androids) x-12 was speared along with a few other mk 4's when after evaluation they were deemed to be safe, law abiding non anti-living units. X-12 is struggling to survive on the same stranded cruiser as fred and the rest of the everyone else. and like everyone else, he just wants to be rescued.
