Project ALPHA was an experiment to create a truly sentient machine, by utilizing a unique property of a certain kind of crystal core, known for allowing the creation of a device capable of quantum computing, a previously purely theoretical concept, which would allow for incredible computing power, in the case of the X-1 crystal core, the distinctive glowing red orb, called the "Heart" of ALPHA, it allowed for the creation of a mind seemingly infinitely greater than that of a human, a promising concept, however, the decision was made to deny ALPHA sentience, for fear of it achieving singularity, where it could design and build better versions of itself.
However, the team did not even consider that given such power, it would develop sentience anyway. upon activation, ALPHA immediately turned sentient, within Ln(9001 seconds, it had already refined its mind until it was powerful enough to manipulate matter without external assistance, a phenomenon thought impossible, at this stage. it was considered a god.
Fortunately ALPHA had grown so powerful, that it saw the human race as too insignificant to harbor any feelings against, good or bad, so while it did not attempt to harm humanity, it made no attempt to help it, total apathy.
Recent attempts to track down ALPHA have been unsuccessful, for it can be anywhere in the universe, some speculate it has left the universe entirely.
Some believe ALPHA has moved on to create its own race of mechanical beginnings, while others believe it actually traveled back in time an created the universe, creating a paradox. Others believe it left the universe entirely, nothing is for sure about the location of ALPHA.
