Anam - God of Protection

With Death and Decay running rampant through the lands, men and women pillaged, looted, and burned cities to the ground. One day, after a plague struck down thousands of people, a group of Believers sought help from the Heavens and were met with a shield with a Gem in the center. It glows with an iridescent light, calming souls within eyesight. Those that seek his help will have all minor wounds cured, and protected by his shield-like body.

His followers are called the Shield Bearers. Their symbol is an eight pointed Emerald Star. They preach Protection, Salvation, Healing, and Purity. Never starting a war, the Shield Bearers were critical in several small skirmishes to two full-out Crusades against the Wraiths, followers of the Baneslayer, Goddess of Doom, Destruction, and Anarchy. They ravaged the lands with fire and salt.

The Holy Book, deemed the Contemplates, has a collection of songs, poetry, stories and the Laws that guide all souls to the Secret World. Those that die from age, battle, or disease shall be brought into these lands said to have fields of wildflowers, trees, and various wildlife. Here they spend their days enjoying the sunshine on their souls until they are called back to Earth to help mortals in danger.

There is said to be a Sword accompany Anam named the Mana, however it is said that it was destroyed during the Disheartened Times when the world was still under the threat of treachery and assassination.
