After the Apocalypse hit in 2151, whole civilizations were wiped out. Many lie dead in the streets, some old and decomposed from the beginning, and some fresh and still-warm from the bandits who killed to find food: to live another day. The streets are unsafe and filled with burning homes and broken-down brick houses, with sicknesses becoming all the more common with the lack of medicine in the stores and pharmacies now burned in the streets.
You wake up, you hear screams around you. All you hear is the patter of the flames and the sparks landing onto your chest. You get up from your quick, black slumber only to find the fiery streets of where you once lived. Suddenly, you look by your hand and see a black belted-together boot, spikes lined up the legs, and you look up.
Out of instinct and total awareness that your impending death would just be faster if you didn't look, you feel the wind of the spiked bat above you go up. You know it's only seconds now. You press your eyes together harder than you ever have before, when the wind stops.
Pure astonishment hits you, and you open your eyes only to witness a flicker of brunette hair rush by your face and a firm grab on the arm. You're pulled up and you open your eyes to see her..
"Get up. It's dangerous in this part of town. Come with me, and don't fall behind.. maybe we'll live through this thing."
