Cerdic was the first king of Wessex from 519 to 534. He and his son Cynric were successful in many battles against the Britons and founded the West Saxon government/reign of West-Saxon kings. He is pretty much the founder of the British Monarchy.Cerdic died in 534 and his son Cynric replaced him.
Fun Facts: The name "Cedric" is a misspelling of Cerdic
Cerdic was a bad guy in the movie "King Arthur" and is killed by Arthur.
