Very little is known about Ramon Monroe before his untimely death on his excavation in the arctic. What is known is that he was born on the road, he never lived in a home for more than a few months. Throughout his life he traveled from state to state, and all over the world. Though some would love the life of traveling, it was not an easy life for Ramon. His family was often broke, and had to scrap just to get by. They were never able to stay put due to fights and threats from locals. So, the Ramon was doomed to a life on the road, and it took it's toll on him.
As an adult, he moved to a rural mining town in the Rocky Mountains. He was often found in bars, drunk and beaten. The alcohol helped him cope with his life, and made the pain seem bearable. Growing up the way he did, he did not get much social interaction, and was known to be violent and eccentric. He would get into fights, often ending in hospitalization.
This life was not sustainable, however, and Ramon had to find work to keep alive. Soon, he found an offer by the federal government to assist with a top secret research program taking place in the arctic where they were going to extract a rare chemical from an iceberg. Ramon jumped at the chance, and took the job. It wasn't long before he was on a plane, on his way up to the arctic. With his were several scientists and other assorted workers to help with the mission. Ramon soon made enemies with the other workers, and was left to fend for himself.
When they landed, they took off onto an iceberg to extract the rare chemical. It wasn't long after the extraction until they were forced to take cover before snow gusts buried them alive. Ramon was running to safety with the others, when the section leading to the camp that the others were setting up slipped away, and was plunged into the icy depths below.
Ramon's only option was to find away around the water, and the only way to get across was to jump and climb the cliff face of the berg. Ramon took a few steps back, ran and jumped. With his ice climbing pick out, he crashed it into the wall, where it stuck. He now hung by his pick in the icy wind. Slowly, he began making his way up the ice, and was nearly to the top when he saw something.
Waiting at the top was everyone else on the mission. Thinking they were there to help him, Ramon began calling to them. The others had spotted him, and began making there way towards him. They stood at the edge of the cliff, staring down at Ramon. Then, simultaneously, they all began stamping their feet, cracking the iceberg. Ramon was now desperate, he realized that they were trying to kill him, and began scrambling to get to safety. It was too late however, and a section started to give way. All of the workers stepped back, and watched as the section plummeted into the water, with Ramon still attached.
The moment he made contact with the water, Ramon felt his muscles freeze. He could not move. He was trapped in an icy underwater prison, and was sinking. Slowly, he let out his final breath, and closed his eyes.
