Many a hunter honors and fears his name, and with reason. for though he is guardian of those who hunt, should they displease him he shall turn the hunt to favor the hunted; and those who depend upon the meat they get from slain animals will find their arrows falling short, their snares broken, and their pit-falls empty.
In the form of a great beast with red eyes and fangs dripping with blood he stalks the plains for prey worthy of hunting, and those he finds worthy seldom escape his claws.
