Sara and her doll, Amy were like best friends; they would do everything together. Whenever Sara went to the playground, Amy would come too. Whenever Sara went to bed, Amy would always be by her side. Whenever her Mother told Sara that Amy couldn't go to town with them, Sara would have a big hissy fit until her Mother would just give up and let her daughter do what she wanted.
One day when Sara and Amy were sitting down on the couch together watching TV, Sara saw an advertisement showing off a “new doll” for children. As soon as Sara laid her eyes on the doll, she knew she wanted it straight away.
“Mummy, I saw a new doll on TV and loved it! Do you think that you could buy it for me for Christmas?” Sara asked her Mother politely.
“You’ll just have to wait and see” She replied as she looked up at the clock, “It’s time for you to go to sleep now darling”
“Ok” Sara picked Amy up with her sweaty hands as she walked inside her bedroom. Her Mother pulled the covers back for Sara to snuggle down inside her bed and go to sleep.
“Goodnight sweetheart, see you in the morning” Her Mom kissed Sara on her cheek, “I love you”
“I love you too, Mummy” She said back as she closed her eyes.
It was Christmas morning and Sara was already up bounding into her Mother’s room yelling, “It’s Christmas! It’s Christmas! Let’s open all the presents!” Once her Mother got up, she went to the Christmas tree where Sara was already scrambling through all of the presents until she finally found the thing that she wanted- the doll she had seen advertised on TV. She pulled all of the plastic off and grabbed the doll out of its container. She hugged it tight. Amy, who was at Sara’s side, looked up at Sara with tearful eyes. She knew from now on that she would be ignored and left out. There was only one space in her heart, and that space was taken. The new doll had that space. Amy was devastated.
“Thank you, Mummy, for buying her for me”
“Your very welcome” Her Mother proudly spoke back.
“Now, you need a name, don’t you? How about Melody. That’s a pretty name” Sara looked at her new doll with a big, happy smile on her face.
Late that afternoon, Sara went to the playground along with Melody and Amy. She went down the slide with both of them. She climbed the ladder with them too. But when it was time for her to go on the swing, she said that only Melody was allowed on it because she was special. Amy’s heart sank. She knew the truth was that Sara only cared about Melody. Sara didn't love Amy the way she used to only because of the new doll. Only because of Melody.
She watched Melody swing. Sara was pushing her lightly. Amy wished that she reach out and push her off the swing, but she couldn't. Amy was too nice, she would never do anything to hurt anyone, to hurt their feelings.
Suddenly Sara's Mother told her it was time to leave, so she did. Sara held her Mother 's hand and she used her other hand to hold Melody in. Then they walked off home, leaving Amy behind. Amy tried to call out to Sara but she couldn't. She felt useless and cold. Tears rolled down her pale cheeks. She tried to wipe them away, but more kept coming until it was like she was covered in a pool of tears. "If that new stupid doll hadn't of come, then maybe I'd be at home watching TV with Sara", She cried.
It was the middle of the night. Amy was fast asleep leaning against a tree trunk trying to keep warm so that she wouldn't freeze to death. The powerful wind was blowing the trees around wildly. Rain drops dripped slowly down from the dark, stormy clouds. Suddenly Amy woke up. She could hear footsteps coming her way. Maybe it's Sara coming back for me, she thought, but she was wrong. The creature had big snow boots on, a large woolly jacket, a beanie and giant ears. What is this thing? Surely it's not a human!, she wondered as the thing picked her up gently and rested her in his arms.
"There's no need to be afraid" He said, "I'm Elfo, Santa's helper. And guess what I do? I make toys for young children out there every Christmas. I'd like to give you to a little girl who would really appreciate a doll like you" Amy all of a sudden felt her heart pump a hundred times faster. She couldn't believe what Elfo had just said. I'd love to have a new owner who'd love and care for me as much as Sara used to! she thought excitedly as Eflo took her home in his arms.
When they got back, Amy was taken into Santa's Workshop for cleaning up. Santa gave Amy some new warm clothes and gave her some new improvements to her body. Then she was already to go. Amy felt all brand new and special, just like Melody felt.
A couple of long weeks later Amy was indeed in her new home. The house was nice and warm and her owner's name was Merlia. Her family was very poor; they had very little money and lived in a place called South Sudan. It was hard for them to find clean water there. Amy was given to them from a charity, and Merlia was very grateful to receive her. She loved Amy so much and she even gave her a knew name- Allegra. Allegra loved her new name and she knew that she had an amazing life ahead of her in her new home.

I know, I know, I just really wanted to delete my old entry because I didn't like the idea much anymore and I didn't really want to do a "Barbie doll" anymore. I prefer this entry better, but I don't know ;w; I know I wont get into the finals though, because there are so many other amazing skins out there that people have made for this contest, so I don't think I have a very good chance.
Btw, Allegra means joyful, just so you know c:
I hope you like the skin and story, and If you do it would be very much appreciated if you
gave it a diamond. <3
