Heyo! This is my entry to the Medieval / Dark Ages Contest :D
Anyways here goes!
Galeran Godwin was destined to join the Order of the Temple ever since he was born in 1147, when he was a small boy he aspired to be a Templar knight. He was an enthusiastic and hearty fellow, finally joining the Order in 1165.
He quickly rose to be a skilled warrior, always aiding his fellow knights in combat; he was greatly respected, having extraordinary reflexes in the midst of battle, his skill seemed super-human.
He participated in The Crusades, in battles such as the Battle of Montisgard in 1177, led by King Baldwin IV.
Records show him being active until his death in 1187 at the Battle of Hattin, it was said that he was one of last few to die, showing an amazing amount of courage against imminent defeat.
"A templar knight is a truly fearless knight, and secure on every side, for his soul is protected by the armour of faith, just as his body is protected by the armour of steel. He is thus doubly armed, and need fear neither demons nor men."
-Bernard de Clairvaux, 1135
For those without previews!
