Gertrud the maid

Gertrud was a young girl, she had just gotten a job as a maid for Lady Agatha.
Gertrud would spend all day cleaning her big house and not get any food or money.
She was starving when she left the Lady Agatha's house.
Gertrud ran home, the pain and misery filled up her brain as she sprinted to her house.
A bright light lit up her home as it burned to the ground in front of her eyes.
" why, why now, why me? Why?" She muttered to her self.
Gertrud stood up and walked away from had once been her only happy memory.
As she walked up to the village in where Lady Agatha lived, she sighted a little girl crying on the side of a path.
Gertrud sat next to her. " I know what it is like to be alone," she said " I have no family anymore,
but we can be together." The little girl glanced up at Gertrud. " Can I stay with you?" she said.
Gertrud nodded and settled herself next to the little girl.
Joy filled her brain as she placed one happy memory in her head.
