[Skinners note:]
I know I set the story in the Antarctic instead of the Arctic. The reasoning behind this is that the Arctic is a seasonally changing ice formation on the north-pole of the Earth, as opposed to the Antarctic which consists of a continental landmass that also gains much of it's surface area from ice/glaciers/icebergs bordering the coast located on the other side of the planet. The 'ground' part is important in the story, which is why the terminology and setting was changed.
And I managed to make the skin using only 7 colours/shades :3 yay xD
Lore:
For thousands of years a civilisation was settled on the south-most point of the Antarctic. For so long these people had thrived in the extreme conditions that accompanied this land. The cold and frost would only make them stronger instead of freezing and withering them away like it would do with others; for this was a civilisation that was comprised completely of ice; the only largely abundant easily form-manipulated solid resource available for miles.
The people that lived among themselves and each other studied the weather patterns and climate of their surrounding carefully and foresaw an extreme weather change that would fall upon them sooner than they wished. The people worked their hardest to mine and shape a stone being into life with the hopes that its strength would protect them from the dawning Winter that would've inevitably disfigured and destroyed the civilization due to the extremity of the upcoming season.
Far from their hopes, the stone golem had not been able to force away or fend off the harsh winter that froze over everything. The people were confined to their own arms' reach as they were molded to the ground by what made up their very being. Within days they were buried under meters and meters of snow and ice. One by one, the people slowly disappeared in a solid ocean of their own disappointment and hope-loss.
Just as it would; the ice and snow slowly melted or blew away in the wind enough to free the stone golem. With no lost hope he wandered through the empty wastelands in search of something, something for anything other than white and greys. Searching for a companion. Searching for something to do. Searching for a purpose.
