Born Mitth'raw'nuruodo, this chiss worked his way up the ranks and took over the empire after the Battle of Endor.
If you haven't heard of him, it might be because he is in the expanded universe. Thrawn is a central character in some of the books that told about what happened after episode VI, and hopefully we will get to see him in episode VII.
