Mr. Freeze, (Victor Fries) froze his wife because she was very sick and was going to die. He thought that while she was frozen he would be able to develop a cure for her illness. However Strange stole Mr. Freeze's wife (while she's was frozen) and used her as bait to get Mr. Freeze incarcerated in Arkham City.
