Mutant Snowman - Twisted Reality Skin Contest

Description from original post (created 2013-08-14 14:23):

It started when a scientist found a stone - the Reality Gem. This was the first ever major discovery of the scientist, who was stricken by bad luck when his wife left him, when his mother died of breast cancer, when he was beaten by his father when he was a child.

This - he thought - is the greatest thing that ever happened to me!

Soon enough, the lucky scientist was showing the beautiful stone around a group of scientists.

What does it even do? - one scientist said.

The lucky scientist held out the Reality Gem, high in the air. The gem exploded - causing a bright purple flash. Everything seemed okay, but he later discovered that everything that was created by man was a failure, just like his whole life.

WHY?! Why couldn't I just passed the stone along to a lucky fellow? - He thought to himself.

No one knew what happened, not even the scientists that he demonstrated the stone to. One day, the scientist that doomed the world saw a boy building a snowman - it looked ugly to the man - but the boy was smiling. Not the "oh, look a friend" smile, but a "I accomplished something, even if it looks stupid" smile - something the scientist did only for a short time. People realized what they made was broken, soon they thought that the gem was cursed - bringing them bad omens. The scientist couldn't take anymore, the last thing he took was a bullet to the head - a decision he made by himself.
