The design of this Peasant is from page 53 of the eyewitness book entitled: Castle



Peasants where like the slaves of a kingdom except they had to feed themselves (they had to make their own food BUT they could choose what they ate) peasants had to give a percentage of their yield to their lord and kept the rest for themselves (if a peasants crops weren't successful not only could they not pay their taxes but they couldn't feed themselves either) in the 14th century the black death killed many peasants making them more valuable to the upper classes.
