Looks like this girl made 47th place in the contest! (was hoping for the top 25, but you win some you loose some :P)
Tied scores with Virajl: Emperess of Venus, and Bjorg: the cyborg bounty hunter. Good company to be in! Feedback is always welcome, of course - always looking to improve. Enjoy!
I always loved those completely impractical (and sometimes downright skimpy) space suits from science fiction illustrators of the in the 1930's through 1950's. So here's my take on the future sci-fi fashion predictions of the past!
By the 26th century, technology was so integrated into modern life that even things like space travel seemed common and "every-day." However, teens and twenty somethings began to rebel against this seamless technological lifestyle (because, hey, teens and twenty somethings have to rebel against something, right? some things never change!) They began taking inspiration from ancient science fiction movies, stories, art, and illustrations from over 400 years ago. With all the modern advancements now available, these old fanciful designs of a future-past could at last be made real. So, in an attempt to make an ironic statement about technology and every-day life, these young adults (the so-called 'hipsters' of their time) began traveling by clunky personal jetpacks, carrying oddly styled 'ray-guns', and most of all sporting retro-future fashions!
Everyone seems to agree that this stylistic trend is wildly impractical, but for some reason it seems to be catching on- who's to say this trend won't continue?
