An alien from a far off planet. A planet that wanders, unhindered by any star. They are the Pale Ones, the Darkened ones. The lack of light has made them cold, pale, and smart. They need no sunlight to survive, and have many characteristics that are very peculiar, while making them very advanced.
They see only with Echolocation, such as bats do.
They long ago lost their eyes, their noses, their mouths, because they do not need them.
Their skin absorbs and lets go of oxygen, bypassing the need for lungs.
Their energy is gained through electric currents, that are produced by their queen.
They communicate telepathically, their behavior can be compared to those of bees or ants, but they are more intelligent, with highly developed brains, and multiple consciences.
While humans have a subconsciousness and a consciousness, they have a third level of thought, which is telepathic, shared among the entire species.
Their metal wire-suits bypass the need for standard nervous systems, and also provide energy to their entire body, which in some cases makes them much stronger than humans.
Will we ever find a species like this? We don't know. But we do know that it's possible, and that we could find other intelligent life. But does that mean we'd be able to understand each other well enough to live peacefully? That's for the scientists of the future to find out.

This skin was highly inspired by an episode of "Through the Wormhole" With Morgan Freeman. The episode I watched was highly entertaining, but also provided an excellent viewpoint on alien life. "The Pale One" is also inspired by the buggers in "Ender's Game," who communicate telepathically through a complicated hive mind.
