The Snowy Lynxians are a mythological creature, obviously based off of canadian Lynxes.
The Snowy lynxian are a anthropomorphic species of animal. They share an evolutionary branch with other felines, however, their most distinct feature is their-human like form.
In the wild, lynxians prey on hares, foxes and occasionally deer. However, they are not entirely carnivorous, and will resort to arctic vegetation when there are no other form of meat available. Lynxians have a similar intelligence to that of the ape. They can make very basic tools and extra clothing to ensure their survival. Some Lynxians have been known to make slings and even utilise stolen bows during a hunt.
Lynxians aren't entirely savage. Using fallen trees, lynxians have built shelters and primitive huts to shield themselves during blizzards. Caves have also been used as lynxian shelters, especially during the breeding season. Lynxians always breed in Spring.
Shelters are not the only form of sophistication exhibited by the snowy Lynxian however. Many have been known to form prides during hunting seasons or when solitary survival proves too difficult. Pride leaders are chosen through physical prowess and mental ability, which are proven through non-lethal combat encounters.
These prides also claim territories in their arctic landscape. Any, if not all, border conflicts are settled through chaotic skirmishes between several of the best warriors of each pride, ending in many deaths amongst either side. Strategy is also key in these skirmishes; George Snow (a well known botanist and Lynxian enthusiast) recounted that a group of 3 resourceful Lynxians were victorious against a pack of 11 hostile Lynxians during a skirmish on a frozen lake. The first group had thawed and weakened the ice a day before, resulting with a majority of the hostilities falling through the then collapsed ice and dying either by drowning or through frostbite.
Unfortunately, Lynxians are becoming increasingly rare due to climate change and hunters who skin the Lynxians and sell their coats. While they may only be threatened today, it is predicted that by early 2021, the Lynxians will become critically endangered and nearly extinct, unless measures are taken to ensure their survival.
