Nightmares are no longer just in your head. They are spreading; escaping the realm of dream and infecting people lives. People are becoming creatures that could only be dreamed up; and the world is being crumbled by what we once though would be over when we awoke.
This is Steve.
Steve had regular nightmares, usually on a three day interval. Whether it was too much stress, or just a random occurrence, he had always woken up in a pool of sweat, afraid to go back to sleep.
Then things started changing. At first he thought he was seeing things, but when his skin was visibly cracking and falling off, his family began to notice. Then came the monster. It latched itself to Steve, infecting his memories and thoughts, and when he tried to fight back, it would squeeze and squeeze.
The nightmare is still spreading. Through his legs and arms. Soon they will change. The nightmare will choose what horrible creature it wants to turn Steve in to.
The world has fallen into a nightmare, but this time; you can'twake up.
This skin took pretty much an entire day of me wracking my brain for ideas. Eventually I just spread the infection to his arms and legs, since at that point I was almost completely brain-dead.
