Weeping Willow

Well, since my other contest entry was disqualified, not really sure why, this is what I came up with and finished in a couple of hours inbetween packing for my holiday :I
I don't really have time to write a backstory but I'll try.
Willow had always enjoyed nature. She used to sneak out the house in the night or when her mother wasn't looking and run into the woods. Sometimes she would wish that she could live in the forest forever. One night, she was lying on her bed staring out into the eerie darkness of the forest at night, watching the shadows move around in the blackness between the trees with facination, when she heard her parents shouting downstairs again. They had been arguing for a while now, Willow hated it. But tonight... tonight was different. A crash of thunder shook the house as the sky was lit up by claws of lightning. She just wanted to jump out into the blackness of the forest and never come back... So she did. She slid up her bedroom window and climbed onto the tree branch. The wind flowed over her arms like silk, giving her goosebumps. The air was cold and all Willow was wearing was her dark brown nightdress. She slipped down from the tree and scampered off into the darkness. Another crash of thunder shook the air around her. She wanted to go back now. She looked around but all she could see was darkness. She was lost. Her vision went blurry as her eyes welled up with tears. She ran. She landed on her face with a thud as she tripped over a root, blinded by her tears. She lay there for a few minutes. When she got up her cheeks were wet from tears. She ran further but she had no idea which way she had come anymore. The young girl slumped next to a tree, tears rolling down her cheeks. She put her head in her hands and sobbed.
Suddenly Willow heard the loudest sound she had ever heard in her life. Her vision was gone, all she could see was whiteness for a split second. She jumped to her feet and looked around, but all she could see was pink nothingness. Her ears were ringing. She stumbled around sweating. She felt as if she was in an oven. The ringing in her ears was replaced by a crackling... Fire. As she regained vision, she realised the tree must have been hit by lightning. She searched desperately for a way out. Then she saw it. A huge log falling towards her. She knew there was no escape now. Willow held her breath. Crash.
Willow felt nothing. She was dead. She had to be dead. She wailed. She tried to move her arms in vain.
Two weeks later, her mother and father came to the woods. Though they hated each other, Willow was their daughter. And she was gone. They heard a faint, strangled wailing sound. They ran towards it. What they found was most odd. A circle of blackened trees was infront of them, and in the middle, a strange tree. It had deep holes in the front of it which resembled a face. The face looked sad, in pain. Trapped. A weeping willow.
