The species Arcanum Dæmonium, Latin for "Mysterious Demon," was driven underground millions of years ago to protect themselves. At the time, people were fascinated by the strange orb of power floating inside their chest, and they stole the orb from the passive, but scary, creatures. Owning an orb was thought of as an accomplishment to the people. And they hunted down the creatures. However, the orbs were the creatures' lifesource, and they died without it. Their bodies were made of cartilage, with a bone spine on the outside, that went up to their head and around the sides in a sort of ribcage. The ribcage was open in front of the orbs, leaving them open to the thieves. There was but ten left when the creatures fled underground. No one knows how many there are now, but there have been sitings of this magnificient creature once or twice every century.
