C-3P0 is one of the leading characters in the Star-Wars Trilogy. (I don't count episodes 1-3, they were absolutely awful and shouldn't have been made.)
He is an android who was built by the slave Anakin Skywalker, to help him with his chores. Years later he fell into the hands of Luke Skywalker, Anakin Skywalker's son.
He is an unofficial part of the rebel alliance, the freedom-force who's aim is to stop the Empire.
