The Crypt King was once a mighty ruler in a distant kingdom. His rule was brought to an end when he was overthrown by an invading force. He was sent to the dungeon, where he grew old and eventually passed away. But even in death his soul could not rest. He rose from the dead and now wanders the ancient catacombs where he was buried, eternally searching for other restless spirits to add to his ever-growing undead army. One day, he swears, he will take back his throne and rule the kingdom once again.
