Crystal Elfs reside underground in crystal caves. They grow and live in the crystals, They're purpose is to protect them. If anything happens to the crystals, like if they brake, The Elf's will feel the pain of the crystal.
The Elfs are normaly blind, which is no problem because they're caves are normaly pitch black. Once the Elfs mature they start growing horns. Horns are of great beauty to the Crystal Elfs, the longer and more curved they are the more beuty the Elf has.
