I quite liked the contest theme this time around, and had a number of ideas for skins  Ultimately, i submitted Yarl The One-Sided to the contest (made it to the finals) but this skin was my second concept.  I didn't know which one to submit, but i figured i'd already submitted female skins to the last couple contests, so time to change it up a bit.

Anywho, I present:  Le Corsaire Élodie de San-Martin, captain of the infamous ship, Le Cuillère d'Argent (The Silver Spoon). While she hails from France, her main port-of-call is the Carribiean island of Saint Martin. As the granddaughter of a very influential and VERY wealthy Marquise, she was educated in all the ways of a proper lady of the French Aristocracy. But try as they might, her family and tutors could never take her focus away from the sea.  Armed only with her wits and a small fortune that she "borrowed" from the family vaults, Elodie ran away and began her life on the high seas. With determination she became a skilled sailor, and with ruthlesness she became a feared commander. 

Despite her growing piratical reputaion, at heart she always remained a proper aristocratic young woman.  Upon obtaining her own ship, she promply negotiated a "Lettre du Marque" with the French Navy.  She now sails the seas as a proper Corsaire, seizing enemies of France and the King - and pocketing the treasure!
