The Templars of the Middle Ages were all about 2 things: Pleasing the current Pope... and slaughtering anyone who got in their way. When the Pope decided that the Holy Lands of Isreal and Syria were to belong to the Catholic Church, he recruited anyone whom he could find. The Templars were the most organized and respected group of soldiers whom fought the Islamic armies, their huge funds and strong men plowed armies during the 2nd and 3rd Crusades.
But once the Crusades were called off, they slowly vanished... or did they?
