The Suspender Man is one of the Steam Powered Giraffe Heroes, whose story is told in the song "The Suspender Man".
The Suspender Man's story
One moonlight light, Rabbit (the main singer) comes across a guy on a log. This guy was wearing big red suspenders and had a banjo in his hand. Suspender Man tips his hat to Rabbit and said to him "Mister robot I am the Suspender Man, and this banjo has shown me to the promised land. Now, I'll play you a song, but in return you put a shiny coin right here in my urn. I'll play you something fine, my music's gonna blow your mind."
Rabbit puts his coin into the urn, and Suspender Man plays him a song. According to Rabbit, the song he played was 'an unholy sound' (or really freaking good). Rabbit has never heard anything so great in his life.
The Suspender Man suddenly stops playing, and Rabbit's jaw drops to the floor in amazement. Suspender Man cracks his neck, smiles, and says to Rabbit, "Buddy you gotta pay for more."
By this time, a big crowd as came around to listen to Suspender Man play, so they constantly throw coins into Suspender Man's urn. Suspender Man becomes insanely popular, and people start wearing red suspenders and wanting suspenders for presents. Banjos start literally sprouting wings and flying off shelves because they want to be played by Suspender Man.
However, in the middle of February, Suspender Man suddenly disappears leaving only his banjo and suspenders by his log. According to the song, he sold his soul to the bog. Maybe it was so he could play very well...?
