The Hubble Space Telescope is a space telescope that was taken into low Earth orbit on the 24th of April, 1990, and still remains in orbit to this day.
Hubble's Deep Field has recorded some of the most detailed visible-light images ever, allowing a deep view into space and time. Many Hubble observations have led to breakthroughs in astrophysics, such as accurately determining the rate of expansion of the universe.
Oh, and just so you know, the feet of the skin is the front end of the telescope, and the arms are the solar panels. And the full black on the side of the arms is not un-textured, it's just space.
