The Nepatua Plant

The nepatua plant is a rare flower found mainly in jungles or roofed forests. Since it is hard for a 2 meter tall plant to get sunlight easily in these areas it has developed the ability to turn its bottom vines into leg-like appendages. It uses these appendages to reach higher areas so that its leaves can get sunlight. The leaves have also started to resemble arms and they move so that the sun is aimed more directly at them. Since it no longer has roots the nepatua plant has also gained the ability to absorb water through its pores. Because it has to constantly keep moving to where sunlight is strongest it has a large central flower on the top of its body to attract more pollinators with multiple smaller flowers around its stem. Scientists are still researching how a plant has evolved to be able to do such complex tasks and are looking for where its "brain" might be located.
