Contest is over! Looks like he placed 35th. Respectable. This was the first skin that I attempted with the new body layers and layout - didn't turn out exactly as planned, but it was a good intro to the format - not my best so I was hoping to place in the top 50. Success! Thanks for the Diamonds, folks, and congrats to the winners and all the finalists!!
Now, lets get the next contest up and running!
Whelp, here's my first shot at a 1.8 format skin. Hope you enjoy it.
HAHAHAHAAARRRRR!! Welcome aboard, matey! Ye be standin on the deck o’ the Golden Squid, the most ‘profitable‘ sailing vessel in these waters. Aye, thats right, she’s a pirate ship an’ we be pirates indeed! An’ I be Captain Yarl Cox Babbington, at yer service. The crew calls me “Yarl the One Sided,” or ole’ “One-Sides” if yer feelin particularly informal.
I bet yer wonderin why they call me One-Sides, eh? Well it aint what you might be thinkin! Half of me may be made o‘ stuff I wasn’t born with, but the nickname’s really on account o’ me bein a stubborn an' argumentative type o‘ personality. I only see one side o‘ the issue - I never let my brain get confused by tryin ta look at things from a different perspective. I once had an argument with a giant octopus; it argued - violently - that it should sink me ship, but I argued it should be dinner for the crew. I lost me leg, but won the argument! The crew had a delicious meal too.
Me arm? Well, that was a ‘conflict of interest’ with another captain. He caught me takin’ his gold and wanted my head on a pike. I couldn’t see his point’o’view though, so he only got me arm; But I got his treasure!! Only time I ever saw the other side of an argument was a fight with me mother, bless ‘her soul. She convinced me it was in me best interest not to run with scissors. That's why I’ve still got both me eyes instead o’ wearin eyepatches like every other pirate captain out there!
