This is my entry for the Nuclear Winter Skin Contest! I'll try my best to write a short story thing that will most likely suck :P
Just saying in the art I did they're meant to be a girl but in my skin I can imagine it as both. so it's interchangeable.
If you like this skin plz diamond, comment, favourite, etc to give me a better chance at a higher spot. Thankyou!
A nuclear war had began. Dust swallowed up the sky and sun, creating intense temperature drops and causing snow to fall in unlikely places. Radiation from the bombs had enveloped the planet as well.Too much exposure to it never turned out good: it would either kill you or miraculously turn you into one of the them, one of the walking radioactive dead (dun dun duun DUN.) They aren't as fond of the day as they are of the night, so they stick to the shadows whenever they can. In my journey to travel to a self-sustaining community I will slay the radioactive dead. I was hesitant at first, but when you look into their cold dead eyes you can tell that the human they once were had undoubtedly left them long ago. Unfortunately this extreme weather also caused strange spores to release from dark, damp places, also coming off the zombies themselves, these spores can make you turn as well. I have seen others fall after breathing them in. So in order to prevent me from turning, I protect myself from the spores by using a gasmask, and by covering the rest of my body the best I can to avoid their bites and scratches - for they can be fatal too.
My many layers of clothing also prevent me from dying from frostbite, pneumonia and many other illnesses.
It takes a few days for a person to turn but you can see the effects take action susprisingly soon. This 'nuclear winter' as i've overheard others call it, has gone on for what I think has been a month, I've lost almost all track of time. BUT the temperature's definItely improving, even if it's a slight improvement from when the bombs first struck. I'd prefer not to take this journey alone but I don't have much of a choice...
TRUST NO ONE.
