2240  ( before the apocalypse ) :
You and you family moved to the street last year.
Your only friend was Billy who lived across the street. 

2241 ( in the apocalypse ) : 
Your friend Billy was biten by a FrostMonster. 
After the bite Billy wasn't feeling very good.

2242 ( still in the apocalypse ) :
Billy turned into a Monster.
He still can control his brain a little bit.
You decided that you wont leave him alone.
