Nuclear Winter - Immortality

Story:

I wish I could die, but I physically can't. The world's gone downhill, and with it any humanity I thought I had left.

I didn't realise I was immortal at first. I could feel the wind scraping at my bare skin, feel radiation spewing out of fallout areas, but I assumed everyone was experiencing that. Even when I looked at my hands, bleeding, down to the bone, I didn't think twice about it.

It was only when I looked in a broken piece of glass, saw the reflection of a decaying skeleton posing as human, that I realised something was wrong.

I approached a group of campers. one of whom pointed a shotgun straight at me. I knew that there were "things" walking around, that would tear her to shreds, but I didn't expect her to aim a gun at me. Or fire it.

Three bullet holes, one in the head, and somehow I survived. The campers ran away screaming.

Now I wander aimlessly, with nothing but tattered winter clothing and a backpack. I used to have a gun, but raiders stole it. I don't have anything worth protecting anyway. I'm surprised I have skin.

Anyway, guess I won't be dying anytime soon. Then again, am I even alive?
