A Story That explains The Skin
The Last Survivor

"AHHH! What is that?!" the last known human survivor of the 'great nuclear spill' yelled.
All they saw was a huge green thing covered in nuclear waste coming towards them. It looked like a human and an ape mixed together or something.
 As the gigantic creature whipped one of it's vines upon the survivor, it fell to the ground, suddenly. The survivor quickly ran away. As soon as the survivor was at least 50 meteres away from the creature, he looked back. The creature was still on the ground. It seemed as thought it was maybe once a rabbit with its long ears, and maybe it was once a human, even. It just lay there, lifeless. The human decided that he should look at the creature any longer, so he just kept running away. 
 While the human wasn't looking, the gigantic creature stood up on its hind legs, and roared like a lion. It started running, not even wounded anymore. It was entirely healed, except for the fact that there was more and more nuclear waste seeping through it's veins. But no worries, that made it more powerful. While all this was happening, the survivor just kept on running. But then, he suddenly felt as if he was being lifted by the wind. But no. He was falling down into a huge pit of nuclear waste. As soon as he plummeted face-first into the waste, he emerged 5 seconds later. He gasped for air as the huge creature suddenly stood over him on the cliff. The survivor knew that this was the last time he'd see daylight again. He coughed  some waste, then noticed something. 
 He noticed that he no longer had a human hand, but he had the hand of the creature standing over him. But the creature was no longer there. He was the creature. It was all a dream.
