The crazy cat o' halloween.
So i had a black cat- Ember.
She had white, paws and very deep orange eyes.
She liked to go out a lot in autumn, the leaves were golden, red and different warm shades.
I often wrote short stories about her when i was younger, on halloween, - varying from crazy, creepy plots all through to daring adventures to new places.
a few years ago something happened... on halloween she stayed outside too long into the evening- she must have gotten lost in the dark because when I remembered to let her inside - as usual-
she wasnt there. she wasnt in my garden. she wasnt anywhere.
we searched for days.
scouring fields, knocking on doors, everywhere we could.
She couldnt have gone any further.
...
we had to give up looking. finally admitting she must be dead.
A year later, i kept seeing her, perhaps hallucinations... i didnt take too much notice of this, as i thought this is what everyone experiences after a sudden loss.
but i could have sworn i legit saw her.
legit.
and then my family had seen her too, it was definitely the same cat. i could tell by the way it sort of grinned at me, and her eyes... i had never seen a cat like this before.
the cat sat on a wall in front of the house as we always seemed to see when we walked past,
we knocked on the door.
a man opened the door, telling us after we had explained the story of our missing cat, that he had the cat for years and years.
my parents laughed and shook their heads, insisting the cat was ours.
he came out holding the papers, signed officialy, that he had infact had this cat for 5 years.
